Requirements to Charter a Junior High Chapter in the Michigan Association of FFA
- Must submit a Constitution to the Michigan Association of FFA, and keep one on file for their members.
- Must submit a Roster to the Michigan Association of FFA and the National FFA, along with payment of dues for each member.
- Must submit a Program of Activities to the Michigan Association of FFA.
- The Constitution of a Junior High Chapter must include the following information:
- Name of chapter
- Address of chapter
- Mission Statement
- Description of how members are to be selected (criteria used)
- List of chapter offices (description of each - optional)
- Description of how chapter offices are to be selected and elected
- Degrees Available
- Description of Dues
- The Roster of a Junior High Chapter will be the same form used for the High School Chapter and is due at the same time as the high school roster. Member's dues are $8.00 for state dues and $5.00 for national dues (payable at one time to the Michigan Association of FFA). *It should be stated at this time that 6th grade members are not eligible to compete in middle school contests and so are not placed on the roster or required to pay dues. It is left up to the discretion of the chapter whether or not they will include 6th grade students in the middle school chapter under a special provision.
- The Program of Activities of the Junior High Chapter should contain the following information:
- A list of all activities that the chapter is planning on participating in and the dates of these activities. Include contests, practices, conferences, etc.
- Along with each activity (for the benefit of the chapter), it should be listed what member(s) is going to be in charge of the activity and what the purpose of the activity is going to be.
